-Culture-

The Culture in Algeria is very different from here. The dominant language in Algeria is Arabic. During the month of Ramadan, all Muslims fast. This means they do not eat, drink, smoke cigarettes, or chew gum. Their culture revolves around their family. A lot like some Americans, family is the most important thing to them. It is the honorable thing to do. When meeting someone, Algerian people must ask personal questions about their family, work, house, religion, etc. When greeting, friends and family will kiss on the cheek. A lot like Americans, when an Algerian person is invited to another's home, they must bring flowers, fruit, etc. Alcohol should not be brought unless you're sure they will permit it.

Sports in Algeria

The sports in Algeria are kind of like America's sports. In Algeria, soccer is the most common sport. It is played in the streets by adults and children. In 1982 and 1986, Algeria participated in the World Cup Champions! In 1990, Algeria also won Africa's Continental Championship! They also have volleyball and handball teams that have won championships.
This is a picture of handball.
